Notifier IRX-751CTEM-WH Smart 4 Multi Criteria Detector, White

The SMART4 detector combines four separate detection elements in a single point detector. The detector combines four separate detection elements into a single point detector, making it extremely reliable and suitable for use in detecting a variety of fire phenomena. The detector features a CO detector for detecting smouldering fire, an IR sensor for measuring sharp ambient light, an optical detector for detecting smoke and a heat detection element.

The SMART4 detector has a built-in test button for testing the detector. Two tri-colour LEDs on the outside of the detector indicate the detector's status (visible at 360 degrees).

This detector is compatible with all Notifier intelligent/analogue/addressable fire alarm control units. Each detector has its own address, which is determined by two rotary switches on the back of the detector. This detector has an address from 0 to 159.

This detector has to be mounted on a B501-AP base or on a base with integrated siren and/or flash unit. The detector also has an extra status output for connecting and controlling an indicator.

Product Questions

After how many years do I have to replace an old fire detector with a new one?
Question by: Wolfgang on Jun 7, 2025, 1:22 PM
A fire detector (smoke / heat detector) should generally be replaced every 10 years. This is the standard service life of most smoke detectors, including those from Jablotron, Notifier and DSC.

Why replace after 10 years?
> Sensor ageing: The smoke detector loses its sensitivity over time.
> Battery wear: Even models with long-life batteries can run out after 10 years.
> Reliability: After 10 years, the risk of faults increases and security systems must always be reliable.
