Questions
Is there a difference with the 'OEM / white label' products from Hikvision that are offered on the internet?
Question by: Franck on Apr 29, 2019, 2:55 PM
Certainly there is a difference with the regular Hikvision products:
1. Security patches are not issued or much later;
2. There is less functionality (a.o. smart detection).
We therefore do NOT recommend buying 'white label' products as the price difference does not outweigh the risk and lost functionality.

Hope this helps:
> DS-2CD: Represents a standard Hikvision network camera (IP).
> First digit (e.g., 2): The series. 2 is the "Easy IP" professional line; 7 or 8 are high-end "DeepinView" cameras.
> Second digit (e.g., 3): The shape. 1 = Dome, 3 = Turret (the "eye"), 6 or T = Bullet.
> Third digit (e.g., 4): The resolution. 2 = 2MP (1080p), 4 = 4MP, 8 = 8MP (4K).
> Fourth digit (e.g., 7): The technology/light sensitivity. 7 often represents ColorVu (24/7 colour).
> G0, G1, G2, G3: The generation. G3 is the modern version.
Then:
L: LED (Smart White light). For colour images in the dark.
I: Infrared (IR). For black and white night vision.
Z: Zoom. The camera has a motorized zoom lens (vari-focal).
S: Audio & Alarm I/O. Connections for an external microphone, speaker, or alarm sensors.
U: Built-in Microphone. A microphone is integrated into the housing itself.
2U: Built-in Microphone plus a speaker.
Y: Anti-corrosion. The housing has a special coating.
W: WiFi.
/SL: Strobe Light. The camera has a Strobe Light and a speaker to actively deter intruders with flashes of light and sound.
